Choosing The Right Bike
Youâll want to think about what it is that you want and need in a dirt bike in order to make sure you get the right model. Off-road bikes are built to be fast and easy to handle, even on uneven and difficult terrain, but each one is going to excel in certain areas.
For example, consider engine types. Two-stroke engines tend to be lighter, while four-stroke engines are heavier. The smaller your engine is, the lighter your bike will be, which can translate to easier handling. A heavier engine is going to make the bike a little less nimble, but that extra weight can make the bike easier to control at higher speeds.
Also, think about where it is youâd most like to go riding. Compact dirt paths are the most common choice, and thatâs what most off-road motorcycles are equipped to handle. However, you can also ride on mud, sand and looser materials youâll just want to make sure to get a bike that can gain purchase even over difficult and slippery terrain.
